P.E. is on Wednesday and Fridays, children will need suitable P.E. kit for both indoors and outside. Long hair should also be tied back and earrings removed wherever possible.
Home learning is given out on a Wednesday and is due in the following Monday.
It is vital that the children read aloud regularly at home. Children should be reading for approximately 10 minutes each evening. If they have completed their school reading book, please feel free to read other books with your child. It is important that they have the chance to read books that they are interested in e.g non-fiction, poetry and magazines as well. Children are encouraged to become more independent in Year 2 and may change their own reading books as soon as they have finished them. We would be grateful if you could either comment or sign the reading record to let us know you have read with your child.
Spellings will be sent home every Friday to be learnt for the following Friday. In addition children will be sent home key words to practise to help them with their sight reading.
Class routines and general information
Please can you make sure all of your child’s belongings are labelled and your child brings in a book bag every day with their reading record.
We are very keen to maintain open communication with you. If there is anything you would like to talk to us about please catch us before or after school to make an appointment in advance.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to a successful year!
