Broom Barns parents, carers, pupils and staff put a lot of effort into raising money for a variety of charities. The money raised is important but participation is the main thing. The time, effort and care that goes into these events makes a real difference to people as well as linking to our teaching of the school core beliefs.
Cancer Based Coffee Morning (Sep/Oct)
Our coffee mornings are very popular and raise money for a variety of cancer charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support and the Garden House Hospice, Letchworth.
Reverse Advent Calendar (Nov/Dec)
Each year, we ask for families to donate something for our ‘Reverse advent calendar’ box which we then donated to ‘People for People’ of Stevenage. This helps those most in need over the Christmas period, making an incredible difference to many who are struggling. This links closely with our December value of generosity as it is a great way to show our children that Christmas is also about giving. As you can see from the photo families always give generously, thank you.
