Charities & Fund Raising

Broom Barns parents, carers, pupils and staff put a lot into raising money for a variety of charities.  The money raised for each charity is important and participation shows the children how they can make a difference. The time, effort and care that goes into these events helps people as well as linking to our teaching of the school core beliefs.

Our coffee mornings are very popular and raise money for a variety of charities.

Each year, we ask for families to donate something for our ‘Reverse advent calendar’ box which we then donated to ‘People for People’ of Stevenage. This helps those most in need over the Christmas period, making an incredible difference to many who are struggling. This links closely with our December value of generosity as it is a great way to show our children that Christmas is also about giving.  As you can see from the photo families always give generously, thank you.

Christmas Jumper/Top on Christmas Dinner Day
On our Christmas dinner day, we ask the children to come to school wearing a festive Christmas jumper (with trousers, skirt or jeans - No party clothes please).  The jumper/top can be homemade or shop bought, as it is about the children having fun and raising money.
